On early Wednesday morning, March 28, 1979, the accident at Unit 2 at 3-Mile Island (Middletown, Pennsylvania) Nuclear Power Plant happened. Newsmen from all over the world flocked there. Here's part of a WCAU-TV news report featuring Broadcast Pioneers member Terry Ruggles reporting on the media attention in this small Pennsylvania town. The report aired on Friday, March 30th.
